The short film "the size of snow" is the result of a free project initiated and realised by a group of five german and finnish friends usually working in the fields of graphic and product design within a month. The team consisted of Nina Farsen, Juliane Lory, Suvi-Tuuli Junttila, Tero Ahonen und Jenni Zetterberg.
All settings and effects are produced by a combination of model making and slide projections and abstain from digital post production. The story is based on the song »Lady Snow«. However the film is not a music video but a freely interpreted and experimental illustration of the song.

The tale is about the love of a man towards a girl who only comes visiting once a year – in wintertime, when snow falls. As a good bye present she gives him an enormous snowball. The snowball serves as a kind of calendar that helps to bridge time until her next visit. It melts and gets smaller day by day until, on the long awaited day of his love’s return, a tiny puddle is all that’s left in the man’s room.
The story escorts the man all the year round. It shows his melancholy and longing for the girl as well as the unusual relationship that developes between the man and his curious new piece of furniture and room mate – the snowball. >>>
