Most people define home as a place of retreat, a place to feel comfortable and sheltered. The sophisticated cultural rules of behaviour at table with strictly regulated manners of acting and an exact definition of how to use the tableware do not fit the concept of the home considered as a place of recreation and well-being Instead of eating at the table, young people or singles often take their meals sitting on the sofa, on the bed or even while leaning against the door frame…

“Tactile” is a set of two containers for eating and drinking that approve and support this attitude. Soft and round forms as well as the smooth surface of the porcelain create a pleasant feeling in the hand. Apart from being handy it is necessary for the containers to be able to stand on the table, e.g. for preparing the meals, even though they do not feature a defined area for standing. Heat caused by hot drinks and soups usually hinders the user to hold a cup or bowl in the hand. “Tactile” consists of a two-walled construction with an isolating layer of air in between which protects the hand from heat. >>>
